Yule Log is a rolled cake dessert based off the piece of log of the same name used in the fireplace during Christmas. As such, the cake is made during Christmas time and is designed to look like a log, as the roll cake resembles tree rings. Portions of the cake can be rearranged to look like branches.
The Yule Log can also have a bark texture by running a fork through the frosting and can be sprinkled with powdered sugar for a snow effect.
