Soba Noodles is a dish in Cooking Mama 3: Shop & Chop.

Description/Appearance[]

Soba ("buckwheat") is similar, but opposite to udon, being a very thin noodle made from buckwheat flour and giving it a dull color. It is usually served cold on a tray with strong dipping sauce made from dashi stock, sweetened soy sauce, and red wine. But it can also be eaten warm.

In the Cooking Mama series, the chilled variant is made, where buckwheat dough is sliced with a special knife, boiled, strained, and chilled.

Recipe[]

  1. Grind the buckwheat!
  2. Knead the dough!
  3. Roll the soba dough!
  4. Cut it up!
  5. Boil the soba noodles!
  6. Wash the soba noodles!

  • Buckwheat
  • Water
  • Served with soba tsuyu (dipping sauce), grated ginger, green onions, and thin nori strips
