Egg Tart is a baked dessert consisting of a tart shell filled with an egg-based custard. The dish, while found in several parts around the world, it is especially prevalent in southern China, where it is a frequent accompaniment to Cantonese dim sum.

However, the recipe made in Cooking Mama Let's Cook is particularly based on the pastel de nata, a Portuguese dessert that while similar, supposedly predated the Chinese counterpart by a century. This dessert is also popular in Macau, the Chinese territory formerly colonized by Portugal.
