Azuki (sometimes spelled "adzuki") Bean Soup is a porridge-like soup made of red azuki beans that are boiled and or crushed. Sometimes it is served with pieces of mochi. There are many types and styles of the soup/porridge, like chestnuts, or served with glutinous rice dumplings instead of mochi.
It is a popular dish, though many prefer to eat it during winter.
